Q: What is "Smart Enhancement"?

BounceCast app's Smart Enhancement means a large number of audio post-production features that happen automatically in the background. BounceCast app runs on your local desktop using your device's CPU power for adaptive audio processing and making it lightning fast. Smart Enhancement feature can be used for both BounceCast recordings or imported pre-recorded files and is available only for subscription customers. When the Smart Enhancement in "ON" (pink highlight colour), the app’s smart audio processing is able to adapt to your recording and the digital signal processing and mastering is in use. How to start recording?

Once you have downloaded and opened the BounceCast app, you can start recording simply by clicking the microphone button. The microphone button shows the input signal level in real time to help decide the correct recording distance from your device.

Audio dropout detected, now what?

If you get "Audio Playback Dropout Detected" -error message while using the BounceCast app, please go to the app's "Audio Input Device Settings" and make sure you have the buffer size set to max. 2048 samples (46.4 ms). The CPU load on your desktop device could also be too high. Please try to close all the CPU heavy apps running in the background to prevent the audio dropouts from happening (e.g Adobe Cloud Products and similar).

Press OK to open the settings page and adjust the buffer size. Press CANCEL to ignore dropouts in the session. Playback dropouts will not have any effect of the audio export files.

How can I get started with BounceCast?

Go to https://www.bouncecast.app/ and "Sign Up". Enter your email address, password. If you have an Invitation Code, click the "Have an invite code -link" and apply it by inserting it to the info field.

You can select between a paid Premium subscription (full features) or use the FREE app version (with limited features). Download the app to your desktop computer. Login with your credentials, and start recording your own podcast today.

Remove noise with Special Processors?

If you record in especially noisy situations (e.g. conferences, restaurants, outdoors) you might want to control the background noise and other unwanted elements in your recordings. For this BounceCast offers a feature called "Special Processors".

You can find The "Special Processors" under the MedKit button inside the BounceCast app where we offer user selectable noise, click and rumble removal, and for stereo balancing (appears for stereo tracks only).

Special Processors

Simply tick a box to activate and deactivate each feature. Playback your recording with "Smart Enhancement" button enabled and listen to the effect. If activating makes a desired effect, leave the processor boxes "ticked". When you are happy with the sound quality and want to move forward to the file export phase, please make sure you have the Smart Enhancement activated (pink highlight colour) to apply the mastering to your exported file.
